About Allen

Allen is fully retired from a 50-plus year career in financial services specializing in tax-sheltered retirement plans with a focus on employees of non-profit organizations such as schools, hospitals and nursing homes as well as private businesses. The basic goal was to put clients first and work from their side of the table. My history and experience include farm work, growing up in my parent’s general store, living in a town of 300 people, attending a very small school through eighth grade, graduating from high school in a class of 70 students, mowing lawns and cemeteries, working in a gas station, driving school bus, attending a small liberal arts college, driving can and bulk milk routes, taking admission in a college bar on dance nights [not realizing I was the “bouncer” until the first time a college kid hit me – totally by surprise] – and keeping that job until I was teaching in my home school district, selling encyclopedias, driving country school bus routes, driving player and fan bus trips along with a summer job driving vacation routes for a company selling milk, bread, ice cream and frozen food door to door in towns and to farm families and then starting to call on school employees to offer them tax-sheltered retirement plans by phone, appointments and cold-calling leading to starting my own financial services business. Did I mention that I mowed cemeteries? And, I haven’t even started yet . . .
